Varies: Most women are completely healed in 4 weeks. Some physicians advise pelvic rest (no sex) for up to 8 weeks just to be safe.

4-6 weeks: Regardless of the type of hysterectomy, the vagina usually takes 4-6 weeks to heal completely. During this time, pelvic rest (no sex, no tampons, nothing in the vagina) is recommended.
