Not Likely..: Nppe is an important (and can be a "scary") clinical entity in the post op period and can happen due to sudden upper airway obstruction. It's the result of negative intrathoracic (chest) pressure while trying to breath deeply when your airway is blocked..When you were waking up. Glad to hear you did well! discuss with your anesthesiologist. All should go well!

Possibly: It is very important that you share this information with your anesthesiologist. Knowing that you had negative pressure pulmonary edema will be helpful in your anesthesiologist developing a plan to reduce the risk of this happening again.
