Baby diet: Basically, in these days we do not recommend early introduction of solid food not even to full term infants because of food allergies. If the baby is growing well you may introduce the solid food around 6 mo of age unless otherwise advised by his pediatrician.

Yes: Generally for the first 1 to 2 years we adjust the child's developmental age by the amount of prematurity. So in your baby's case, i would wait 1 additional month to introduce solids (so at 5 to 7 months chronological age versus the typical age of 4 to 6 months.).

Use corrected age : for attainment of milestones till age 2. When a baby has enough upper body strength to lean toward the spoon when hungry & turn away when full, is 4-6 mos. old & takes more than 32 oz./day of formula or nurses more than 8-10 times/day, (s)he is ready for iron-fortified cereals. Follow with single-ingredient iron-rich meats, then vegetables, saving sweet fruits for last. Avoid juice. Enjoy!
