Doubtful/Possible: It is possible but unlikely you are pregnant. More likely irregular menses due to being perimenopausal. That said, i would recommend a blood pregnancy test (serum hcg) to be sure. A positive pregnancy test in a patient who has had a tubal ligation warrants further investigation. If the pregnancy test is negative i would manage expectantly and see what the next few months are like.

Not likely: With a tubal ligation and 45 years old the chances of being pregnant are small. The more likely situation is that you are showing signs of perimenopause. This is the time when you have fewer regular ovulations and at first periods are shorter due to low progesterone. Then as it becomes harder to stimulate an ovulation periods become farther apart. Talk to md about hormone replacement therapy.
