Ringworm: Ringworm is a common fungal infection of the skin and is not due to a worm. The medical term for ringworm is tinea. Ringworm is contagious. It is treated with over the counter creams, usually resolving in 2 to 4 weeks. In extreme cases, oral anti-fungal agents are used. Good luck!
