Unlikely : It would be unlikely that there would be any problems. Of course, the databases on these medications are probably imperfect. Also remember that birth defects occur in the general population without having been exposed to any medications. For the most part however i would not worry about this. I have had quite a number of patients go through pregnancy on Klonopin (clonazepam) without any difficulties. I've had fewer go through pregnancy on a atenolol but i've never seen any problem with that. Of course make sure the check with the gynecologist for their opinion as well. Both of these medications have other options.

FDA pregnancy cat.: Both atenolol & Clonazepam have been assigned to pregnancy category d by the fda which means that they can cause problems. Please discuss further with your prescribing physician (s) before becoming pregnant. Take care.
