Birth control: Birth control pills or antibiotics can both work on hormonal acne. Either are to be used in combination with topical medications which decrease bacteria and unclog pores where acne forms.Antibiotics are not used at the same time as oral contraceptives because they may decrease the effectiveness of the ocs.
