A member asked:

Can ct scan contrast cause one eyelid to swell?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: Allergy to contrast dye used in ct scanning, kidney studies (ivp dye) is very common. The eyelid and area around the eyes is very sensitive and may be the only area that shows signs of a reaction. It is possible for one to swell more than the other (or one lid not at all). You need to mention this as a possible allergy in the future. This contrast is different than MRI contrast material.
