Depends on how much: I assume you are talking about differin, or adapalene. It is normal to feel a mild burning or stinging when you first apply it. However, it should decrease over time; try rinsing with cold water. Avoid any contact with your eyes. If the pain continues to get worse, or if you start noticing swelling of your lips or tongue, you may be having allergic reaction and would need to go to er.
