Medical marijuana: Medical marijuana does nothing to help macular edema. Historically, people have thought that they could treat glaucoma (elevated intraocular pressures) with marijuana, but this is not the case. The iop lowering effects of this drug are very short lived and so currently this is not an accepted mode of treatment for this condition.
