See your doctor: Brown discharge is typically light bleeding. Irregular bleeding/brown discharge is common in the first 3 months of birth control pills, and can also occur if you miss pills. But, there are lots of causes of such brown discharge/bleeding, including pregnancy, stds, other infections, polyps, or fibroids. You should see your doctor to be sure.

Vaginal Discharge: The brown is probably some aged blood in the mucous...It may be left over from the last period. It could be some irritation of the cervix. If the menses is otherwise normal then this may not need to be worried about.
