Its a chronic dz: Unfortunately, PVD is a chronic disease. There are certain things you can clearly control such as your diet and of course not smoking.

Yes, but...: Pvd distribution manifests differently in different diseases: tobacco leads to aortic, iliac, femoral-popliteal disease; diabetes, almost exclusively in the tibial, peroneal arteries. Smoking cessation, control of lipids & blood pressure, and maintaining one's ideal body weight enhances one's life expectancy... Recall same PVD risks also cause strokes & heart disease... It's all linked...
