Chronic pain: Fibromyalgia (fm) is a chronic musculoskeletal pain problem. While there are no structural or autoimmune abnormalities, fm sufferers have diffuse body pain with multiple tender points, poor sleep, fatigue and often other symptoms. Many fm patients also have anxiety or depression. Fm is a disorder of central pain processing in the brain. Exercise and meds for sleep and/or mood can be helpful.
