Ankle swelling: It could be from heart disease kidney disease liver disease low-protein or sometimes even normal. Some medications has side effect of ankle swelling also.

Several causes: Swelling due to poor circulation, lymphedema, systemic gouty arthritis, congestive heart failure. Best to see your doctor for evaluation.
