Treat the cause: Kidney disease is the most likely cause of high creatinine. Treating obstruction of the urinary tract, infection of the kidneys and possible drug damage or autoimmune diseases like lupus need to be considered before committing to life long dialysis. A discussion with your doctor is needed. You need to be certain that you need dialysis in order to tolerate the life style changes coming to you.
