Endocarditis: Endocarditis does not usually produce fever since the valves of the heart are inert since they lack blood supply.

Usually: Bacterial endocarditis usually but not always causes fever. The fever may not be present early in the disease and may develop later depending on the infecting organism. As you have fever and a valvular abnormality you should be evaluated by your doctor. Blood and other cultures and a cardiac echo may be indicated.
