Likely: Leukemia can usually be detected by examination of blood, however whether annual blood tests are likely to provide early diagnosis is not known. Some leukemias will require examination of bone marrow for diagnosis.

Leukemia: A suspicion for a significant blood disorder like leukemia can be raised from the routine complete blood counts. Subsequently, more specific tests - from blood and bone marrow biopsy in almost all cases on leukemia - would need to be obtained to confirm and to establish the diagnosis of leukemia.
