Can laxatives cause tinnitus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Highly unlikely: Tinnitus or the perception of a sound in the ear is caused by increased electrical activity in the auditory nervous system of the brain, it is highly unlikely that a laxative would produce this problem. Although it is true that tinnitus can be a side effect of a drug, and assuming a laxative is a drug, I think the incidence of the laxative producing this symptom would be about 0.1%.
