Is it a period!: In your 40's, your cycles might become more irregular, and ovulation can be irregular or absent. This can lead to irregular bleeding that might be mistaken for a period, or bleeding that is not like a period at all. This should warrant a pregnancy test and a discussion with your ob/gyn if it continues to be a problem.
