Usually not!: It depends on the reason why you are having trismus and timing. If it is in response to a procedure or injury, stretching too early can cause more irritation to the muscles and extend or increase the trismus. If it is due to an infection, the infection should be treated immediately. If it is due to an old injury, see your oral surgeon. You may need physical therapy.

Maybe: It really depends on why you have trismus as to the best treatment. In some conditions stretching may be harmful. You need to have someone who understand jaw function help you with a definitive diagnosis before any treatment is recommended.
