Treatment : Hyperinflation in asthma can occur as a result of air trapping when lungs do not empty out adequately during exhalation. This is secondary to airflow obstruction. Treatment of asthma with beta agonist ( such as albuterol or salmeterol) should resolve hyperinflation as these medicines decrease airflow obstruction. Inhaled steroid (also used for treatment of ashtma) help reduce inflammation.
