You can: The two medicines work in a different way but for the same purpose . I would not recommend for you to take both of them since you can take care of your problem with one of them whether you have gerd , peptic ulcer disease . There is step up and step down approach of treatment for GI condition the two medications are used . Omeprazole is stronger and more effective then Pepcid (famotidine) . Try Pepcid (famotidine) first.
