A member asked:

How long would prilosec (omerprazole) take to work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is pretty quick: Prilosec is a potent ppi drug which stops production of stomach acid within a matter of 2-3 hours. So in that regard you should have relief of acid symptoms within one or two days but you have to continue taking it for several days to 6-8 weeks depending on your symptoms., to obtain maximum benefit.
