A member asked:

Every time i go to sleep my arm and hand falls asleep and my hand swelled up and hurts do bad it wakes me up and when i wake up i can't even close my hand what is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nerve compression: The position you sleep in may be causing compression of a neurovascular bundle. The nerves and blood vessels that supply the hand and forearm pass into the arm under the pectoralis muscle and may be getting squeezed by sleeping on your side in a scrunched up position. Doing pect stretches before bed may help.
