Nerve pressure: When we sleep, we oftentimes put pressure on our nerves by lying on top of them or folding our arms or legs a certain way. When this happens, we experience a temporary numbness or paresthesia which resolves quickly. There are other causes of numbness that should be evaluated by a physician. Therefore, the best plan is to get a physical and discuss this with your doctor.
