A member asked:

Im taking my girls 4 and 2 on a long flight. i suffer from painful ears when landing so i'm worries about them. any suggestions to prevent ear pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Crackers: I have had good luck giving my daughter something like goldfish crackers during take off and/or landing. The process of eating and swallowing helps to open up your eustachian tubes and equalizes air pressure on either side of your ear drums. Gum for those old enough (like yourself) can do the same thing.
