Have it checked out: An object in the eye can cause serious infection that can lead to vision loss, especially if the object is vegetable matter or wood. The object may be gone and you are feeling the scratch on the eye, but it may still be in the eye or stuck to the inner surface of the lid. The only way to know is to have an ophthalmologist look at it.

See a doctor: You mmay have an imbedded foreign body in the cornea, a foreign body under the lid or a corneal scratch. You should be examined and treated.
