Shoes and foot drop: If there is a diagnosis of foot drop present, before a shoe recommendation is given, the patient must have the condition managed by bracing of the affected foot. Other treatments, including surgery may be available if warranted, but a thorough examination of the lower extremity must be done first by a podiatrist or foot and ankle specialist.

Brand names: Won't do you much good, but a style to which a lift can be added, or with room for a dropfoot brace, if you have one of those, would typically be best, .
