Maybe: Generally the adenoids tend to shrink in size by the teen years and little of them remains beyond that. While some people can have persistence of some of their adenoids, doctors worry when there are new symptoms of enlarged adenoids in adults as it could be an indication of a tumor such as lymphoma or nasopharyngeal carcinoma. If the doctor wants to biopsy it is probably a good idea to do it.
