Only colon: Colonoscopy is meant to examine the entire large intestine all the way to the end of small bowel and beginning of large bowel(cecum). Small intestine is not examined with this procedure.

Yes: A complete colonoscopy reaches the most distal part of the small bowel. When the colonoscopy is being done to evaluate for small bowel conditions, like crohn's disease, the operator will go into the small bowel and take biopsies.
