A member asked:

If someone has cystic fibrosis can they still be an organ donor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tissue donor, yes: Since cystic fibrosis affects many of the organs of the body, organ donation for most of these is not allowed. However, tissue donation, such as corneal donation, bone, heart valves, etc., may be allowed depending on the status of the donor. They can definitely put organ donor on their license, and a transplant center will determine their eligibility.
