A member asked:

Is it possible to have a retainer fitted if your teeth have moved slightly? will your teeth straighten?

Yes and No: Retainer means to hold in place, they are not too good at moving teeth. Best thing to do, if not much movement is to wear your original retainer full time (it will be tight) until the teeth are back to their ideal positions. Some retainers can be slightly adjusted by your orthodontist to re-straighten teeth, but the misalignment must be very minor.

Maybe: If the retainer is made on a model of your teeth straight and it is worn all the time it may straighten your teeth back to where they were.
