ECT: Ect (electric shock therapy) is an extremely effective treatment for mood symptoms and psychosis. While many patients do extremely well, this is a procedure using light anesthesia. It has some side effects. I would get an independent second opinion to be sure easier treatments are not easily tried. Many times more aggressive medication can be tried. Also look at transcranial magnetic therapy.

Most likely yes: Your psychiatrist should determine this, but if nothing else is working, shock treatment can be very beneficial.
