Can be: Pneumonia is usually the result of a virus or bacteria infecting the lungs. These organisms are usually deposited in the lungs by way of droplets of moisture that allow these bugs to get airborne. If you're kissing someone with pneumonia, there's a pretty good chance of these droplets getting in your mouth and ultimately into your lungs. I wouldn't chance it... Your loved one will understand.

Pneumonia: This is an inflammation of lung tissues often due to infection with a wide variety of organisms. It would be very unusual for bacterial causes to be transmitted in this manner, but some of the atypical causes (mycoplasma, chlamydia, legionella) have the potential for this. Not a simple question with a simple answer. Good luck.
