Geographic tongue: The exact cause of geographic tongue is unknown, but it seems to be common in women undergoing hormonal changes, such as pregnancy. It is a benign conditon that may come and go, or become chronic. There is no known treatment, other than to treat any symptoms ( sensitivity to hot and/or spicy foods).
