URI: Your symptoms are most likely caused by a virus. Upper respiratory infections (URI) are often viral, and are treated with over-the-counter medications. For nasal symptoms you can use a combination of an antihistamine for the itchy, runny symptoms and a decongestant for the stuffy, pressure-like feeling and "cracking" ears.. For cough, try Robitussin-DM and if mucous use Mucinex or guaifenesin.
