If you get face pressure and some pain at the beginning of a cold, is that sinusitis or does sinusitis take a few days to develop?

It's sinusitis: Inflammation of the sinuses- sinusitis, is clinically demosntrated by what you have described- pressure and pain in the sinuses. Almost all sinusitis occuring at the beginning of a cold is caused by a virus. Bacterial sinusitis usually occurs a week or so after an upper respiratory tract infection starts. Sinusitis does not require antibiotics from the start of the infection.
