However there are specialty clinics that have physicians of other specialties like er docs, family practice docs, and other various surgical specialists performing the procedure. They can be well qualified and as long as they have dependable backup to handle complications, should be safe.

Passage of this exam granted that person the designation of diplomate of the american board of phlebology. This board name was just changed to the american board of venous and lymphatic medicine. Vascular Surgeon: A specialist that is best qualified to treat varicose veins & other vein diseases is a board-certified vascular surgeon. They are the only vein specialist that has formal fellowship training in vein surgery & vein interventions. They have undergone 7 years of university surgery training. Any other doctor is not recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties as a certified vein surgeon.
