Dry Cough: Try to figure out the cause is best. But a trial of a salt water wash or a salt water gargle two to three times per day would a good start. If any medications have been started, that might be an alternative. Sometimes silent gastroesophageal reflux can lead to a dry cough. Many possibilities but trial and error are your best and cheapest bet.

Treat the source : The irony here is that your dry cough may be secondary to some dripping issues. Post nasal drip is the origin of many dry coughs. The irritation or inflammation of the upper respiratory tract elicits a cough response. Basically a runny nose in the back of your throat. Humidified air, fluids and methods to shrink tissue should help. If persistent rule out medicine side effect or asthma variant.
