No: Mirena (levonorgestrel) works locally on the uterine lining. By definition, endometriosis is tissue from the uterine lining outside of the uterus. Mirena (levonorgestrel) may help with bleeding or cramping symptoms that may accompany endometriosis, but does not treat the disease itself.

Most likely: This iud produces a small amount of Progesterone that has been impregnated into the unit. The Progesterone will treat the endometriosis if the dose is high enough. Also the Progesterone may inhibit ovulation which also will stop the growth of endometriosis.
