What is the cause of tooth tenderness?

Tenderness is a : Generic term. It would be helpful to know if the tooth is sensitive to hot, cold, chewing ... More specific symptoms will help answer your question more accurately. In the interim, if you have not been to a dentist recently for a check up - that would be strongly recommended. Hope this helps.

Several reasons: Can be caused by a tooth abscess, gum & bone disease infection, a bad bite or grinding your teeth. You need to see a dentist to find out why and what treatment is needed. It may get worse with no treatment.
