Don't be afraid!: Temporary crowns are not meant to be in the mouth more than 4 - 6 months, they are only meant to be wear until the final crown is made. If a temp. Crown comes out during this time it may be normal, if it comes out often tell your dentist since he/she may need to modify the tooth preparation and/or the temp. Crown.

Just be careful: Just be careful tof eating sticky foods and do not either floss carefully or not at all till the new tooth is inserted. If it' comes off. Just keep it clean and call your dentist to have it put back on.

Temporary crown off: If it comes off, the dentist can put it back on with semi-permanent cement to keep it more stable until the day the permanent one arrives. Not flossing the temporary crown is your best way to keep it from coming off...And not chewing sticky goods.

Avoid sticky foods: Avoid chewing really sticky foods like caramels, tootsie rolls, gummi bears and Dots. Also, when you floss around the temporary crown, after you are done around the tooth, let go of one end of the floss and pull it through the space, don't pull it up through the contact area between the two teeth.
