Sure: Delivery is the ultimate pain relief but prior to delivery, an epidural is useful for pain relief. If labor is too quick and/or an epidural is not available; a pudendal block (injection) can be placed by your OB and this helps tremendously, especially with first time moms who are experiencing lots of pain. Discuss your options with your OB before labor. Take care.
