A member asked:

What are the symptoms of tonsillitis and does it cause headache ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tonsillitis: Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are associated with throat pain or sore throat. Inflamed tonsils, such as may be found in strep throat, are swollen, red, and may have some purulent exudate (pus). There are possible complications of strep throat which involve headache, such as sinusitis, and rarely, meningitis or brain abscess. Most cases, however, are self-limited with symptoms resolving in 2-5 days.
