How normal is it for almost unseeable little veins to touch the outside of the cornea?

Yes: The blood vessels go right up to the edge of the cornea. There are no normal blood vessels in the cornea itself.

Common: The vascular supply of the conjunctiva outside the cornea has multiple little capillaries and veins. These stop at the edge of the cornea (the limbus) unless there is some pathology. They do come right up to the edge in the normal eye.
