Laxatives: Constipation, if acute and limited, does not need a workup. If chronic or worsening, you may need to see someone. You can try a light otc laxative like milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) with or without a supposistoy lile glycerine. If this fails, magnesuim citrate orally with or without a fllets enema from below will be very effective. If the symptoms persist, see someone.
