See below: A 16 year old is not legally allowed to make that decision. Nor would any doctor accept that kidney at this stage. Once they mature and are legal adults the issue can be addressed.

Age of Majority: One must be of legal age to consent to donate one's own kidney. There have been legal exceptions made in the case of a child twin donating to another.
