Dehydration: Generally, when a person is dehydrated, the kidneys reduce their filtration and production of urine and concentrate that urine which is produced. Commonly, reduced sweating also occurs. Since sweating is the body's method of cooling, reduced sweat in a hot environment can lead to over heating.

No: If you are really dehydrated your body's natural defenses kick in to conserve water. You will therefore not sweat or urinate much if dehydrated. Adequate urine output is a good estimation of one's hydration status. If you are active with outdoor activities and not "going" much, drink up!
