Steroid : A corticosteroid cream will help reduce redness temporarily , however , it is not meant as a long term treatment and does have the potential to aggravate acne and thin the skin if used incorrectly . See a dermatologist to evaluate and create an appropriate treatment regimen.

No: Long term use of topical steroids can thin or atrophy delicate facial skin, and will only address some of the inflammatory (red) component of the acne. This treatment does not address the underlying causes. Discuss treatment with yoru dermatolgist who will recommend oral and / or topical creams (ex: retin a, (tretinoin) clindamycin, etc).
