Likely infection: This is a common means of transmitting bacteria and viruses from one person to another. You've probably been infected with a virus that causes coldsores. Lip sore: If the sore has not been there very long (less than 2 week) you can try rinsing with warm salt water throughout the day. Just be sure to spit out after you rinse!
